Construction & Public Liability
All losses or incidents which may result in claim should be reported as soon as possible.
The first action should be to email or phone details of the incident to Qtrust, with the following information:
- Insurance Policy number with name of the insured;
- Time and date, and location of the incident with details of the circumstances (if available);
- Estimated loss ($):
- Describe what action(s) are being undertaken to minimize loss or further damage:
- Obtain a claim a form, complete and return with supporting documentation.
Minimise further loss. Make site and surrounds safe. Keep unauthorised persons away from the construction site. Action should be taken immediately to protect further damage or property loss.
Burglary and theft, malicious and vandalism damage should be reported to Police immediately, and obtain a Police report number.
Use your mobile phone or camera to take clear and descriptive photos of all damage. These photos will assist in prompt claims management, and should accompany your claim report.
Prepare your claim submission, for example copies of invoices, photos of damage or lost goods, brochures of lost items or product information and receipts of goods or materials to assist in validation your loss. Estimate repair costs.
Other than to make your site safe, no rectification or replacement of damage or stolen goods should occur until the insurer or appointed loss assessor advises.
Importantly, and in general terms no admission of liability should be made to any party in any form whatsoever. Any writs, summons or demands should be sent to Qtrust immediately.
